Sheree transitioned from two decades in education to a role as an Instructional Systems Designer with C² Technologies, where she designed training for the U.S. Navy. She has since moved on to Legacy FM as a Learning Experience Designer.
After more than 20 years as a teacher, Technology Coordinator, and Library Media Specialist, she knew her next chapter would be different. She had always loved weaving technology into learning experiences. She just needed hands-on practice with authoring tools and a portfolio that could prove it.

Sheree's flagship project is a scenario-based eLearning module designed to train new police academy officers in de-escalation techniques. Working closely with a subject matter expert, a police officer with years of on-the-job experience, she built a realistic, story-driven learning experience where learners face authentic decision points and experience the natural consequences of their choices.
To bring her vision to life, she used Articulate Storyline 360 and Vyond, carefully customizing assets to align with a professional color palette and tone. The result is a polished learning experience that blends compelling storytelling with instructional rigor.
From Portfolio Launch to Navy Training
After completing her flagship project and refining her portfolio, Sheree networked intentionally, connecting with other instructional designers, sharing her outcomes, and celebrating the wins of her peers. One of those connections led directly to a referral to C² Technologies.
After interviewing, she received an offer to design training for the U.S. Navy. Her onboarding was intense: 13 meetings in her first week, four government tests, and nearly ten new programs to learn. But she quickly realized how well-prepared she was. Concepts like design documents, project roles, and scenario-based learning weren't intimidating; they were already part of her skillset.
In the role, Sheree worked with Navy SMEs to create multimedia learning experiences, collaborated with design teams, and managed her own four-week sprints. 'Supporting those who dedicate their lives to protecting ours is an incredible honor,' she said.

I had built a strong foundation in instructional design through my graduate program, but I knew I needed more than theory. I wanted hands-on experience with authoring tools, real projects for my portfolio, and the confidence to position myself for competitive roles.”
