Mya transitioned from higher education into a fully remote Learning Experience Designer role in financial tech after building a project-driven portfolio.
For five years she worked as an instructional designer in higher education, grateful for the experience, but underpaid, underappreciated, and without a clear path into corporate learning. Without Storyline experience or a professional portfolio, the transition felt out of reach until she joined the Instructional Design Bootcamp.

Mya's flagship project is an interactive learning experience designed around a real-world training challenge, built using Articulate Storyline 360 after she worked through the Bootcamp's Storyline Project Lab course step by step.
Feedback from her dedicated mentor kept her on track, and the result is a scenario-based eLearning module that showcases her technical skill alongside her learner-centered design thinking.
Landing Her Dream Corporate Role
With her flagship project complete and portfolio live, Mya stepped into the job market with a renewed sense of purpose, equipped with projects to showcase, a polished resume, and strategies for navigating interviews.
The search wasn't easy. There were rejections, and moments of discouragement. But she kept applying, trusted the process, and landed a fully remote Learning Experience Designer position with Velera, a financial technology company.
She credits the Bootcamp community, hands-on labs, and one-on-one mentorship for making the transition possible.
